Tortillas recipe

Ingredients :
2 cups flour
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt

How to Prepare :
Put the flour and salt in a bowl
Gradually add the water mixing at the same time - you should end up with a soft supple dough
Knead for a few min adding a little more flour if needed
Divide the dough into 8 and for each of the 8 pieces roll out into a thin-ish circle with a floured rolling pin (if you don't have a rolling pin just push it out with your hands)
Cook each circle of dough on a gridle, skillet, or frying pan (ungreased) - cook on a med heat until you see brown spots, and then flip it over and cook the other side.
Once all the Tortillas have been cooked you can add whatever you want - my favorite thing to eat in the tortillas is salad, chicken, chilli and cheese.
Makes 8 Tortillas - so serves 4 if you have 2 each

Hot Cakes

Ingredients :

1/4 c Natural Yoghurt
1 Banana, Mashed
1 c Kelloggs Special K
Butter, for cooking
1 Egg
1 c Plain Flour
2/3 c Milk
Strawberries


How to Prepare :
In a medium bowl, whisk together all the hotcake ingredients until smooth, place to one side.Make Glaze: In a medium saucepan, combine 1/2 Cup water & 1/2 Cup sugar and allow to boil.Reduce by 1/3 and allow to cool slightly before adding strawberries.Place a heavy base frying pan on medium-high heat. Melt butter to coat the bottom of pan and pour in 2 tbsp of the hotcake batter and allow to cook 1-2 minutes or until the hotcake bubbles burst.Flip over and cook 1 minute on the other side.

Spicy Crispy Beef recipe


Ingredients :

30 g cornstarch
5 g salt
0 black pepper
340 g flank steak, thinly sliced
945 ml oil for frying
60 ml soy sauce
15 ml rice vinegar
10 ml rice wine
20 ml honey
90 g granulated sugar
10 g chile paste
60 ml water
15 g chopped fresh ginger root
15 ml vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic, chopped
40 g sliced onion
40 g diced red bell pepper

How to Prepare :

Heat oil in deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl, combine cornstarch, salt and pepper together. Mix thoroughly. Toss the steak slices in the cornstarch mixture and coat well.
Deep fry the coated steak slices until golden brown. Check to make sure they are cooked through. Remove from oil, and set aside.
In another mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, rice wine and honey. Add sugar, chili paste, water, and ginger. Mix well and set aside.
Heat a wok or deep frying pan over medium high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of oil, and quickly saute the onion, garlic and red pepper for 30 seconds. Add the sauce mixture, and cook another 30 seconds. Finally, add the strips of fried steak and toss to heat through and coat with sauce.

Aussie BBQ Meatballs recipe

Ingredients :

455 g ground beef
55 g bread crumbs
2 small onions, chopped
6 g curry powder
5 g dried Italian seasoning
1 egg, beaten
1 clove garlic, minced
120 ml milk
3 g salt
1 g ground black pepper
15 g margarine
2 small onions, chopped
180 ml ketchup
120 ml beef stock
60 ml steak sauce
120 ml Worcestershire sauce
30 ml white vinegar
5 g instant coffee granules
110 g packed brown sugar 45 ml lemon juice


How to Prepare :
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F or 190 degrees C. In a medium bowl, mix the ground beef, bread crumbs, 2 onions, curry powder, Italian seasoning, egg, garlic, salt and pepper together. Now gradually mix in the milk until you have a nice texture for forming meatballs. You may not need all of the milk. Form the meat into balls slightly smaller than golf balls and place them in a greased baking dish.
Bake your meatballs for 30 min. Once the meatballs are in the oven, start making the sauce. Melt the margarine in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the remaining onions, and cook until browned. Stir in the ketchup, beef stock, steak sauce, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, instant coffee, brown sugar and lemon juice.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the meatballs are done. Remove the meatballs from the oven, and drain any excess grease. Pour the sauce over them, and return to the oven. Bake for an additional 30 min.

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots recipe



Ingredients :

340 g shallots, halved lengthwise and peeled
20 ml olive oil
0 salt and pepper to taste
725 g beef broth
180 ml port wine
10 g tomato paste
905 g beef tenderloin roast, trimmed
1 g dried thyme
3 slices bacon, diced
45 g butter
10 g all-purpose flour
4 sprigs watercress, for garnish


How to Prepare :
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In 9 inch pie pan, toss shallots with oil to coat. Season with salt and pepper. Roast until shallots are deep brown and very tender, stirring occasionally, about 30 minutes.
In a large saucepan, combine beef broth and port. Bring to a boil. Cook over high heat until the volume is reduced by half, about 30 minutes. Whisk in tomato paste. Set aside.
Pat beef dry; sprinkle with thyme, salt and pepper. In a large roasting pan, set over medium heat on the stove top, saute bacon until golden. Using a slotted spoon, transfer bacon to paper towels. Add beef to pan; brown on all sides over medium high heat, about 7 minutes.
Transfer pan to oven. Roast beef until meat thermometer inserted into center registers 125 degrees F (50 degrees C) for medium rare, about 25 minutes. Transfer beef to platter. Tent loosely with foil.
Spoon fat off top of pan drippings in roasting pan. Place pan over high heat on stove top. Add broth mixture, and bring to boil; stir to scrape up any browned bits. Transfer to a medium saucepan, and bring to simmer. Mix 1 1/2 tablespoon butter and flour in small bowl to form smooth paste; whisk into broth mixture, and simmer until sauce thickens. Whisk in remaining butter. Stir in roasted shallots and reserved bacon. Season with salt and pepper.
Cut beef into 1/2 inch thick slices. Spoon some sauce over, and garnish with watercress.

Chili Beef recipe


Ingredients :

910 g ground beef
0.5 onion, chopped
2 g ground black pepper
3 g garlic salt
590 ml tomato sauce
224 g salsa
30 g chili seasoning mix
1 (15 ounce) can light red kidney beans
1 (15 ounce) can dark red kidney beans


How to Prepare :
In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the ground beef and the onion and saute for 10 minutes, or until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain grease, if desired.
Add the ground black pepper, garlic salt, tomato sauce, salsa, chili seasoning mix and kidney beans. Mix well, reduce heat to low and simmer for at least an hour.

Beef Stew recipe



Ingredients :

3 lbs. (about 1.5 kilos) chuck steak - cut into cubes
6 onions
12 small carrots or 6 large carrots
6 potatoes - cut in 4
2 onions - sliced
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
l/4 cup parsley - chopped
l cup chopped celery
l/2 tsp. thyme
2-l/2 cups canned tomatoes
l/2 cup flour
l cup peas
Salt and pepper to taste

How to Prepare :
Brown the beef with a little bit of oil in a saucepan
Add the garlic, sliced onions, celery, parsley, thyme, tomatoes, salt and pepper and 2.5 cups of water Bring it to a boil, and then reduce the heat to a simmer
Put the lid on the sacuepan and simmer for 2 hours.Add the rest of the veges and simmer for another hour.Blend the flour with 3/4 cups cold water and stir into the stew.Simmer for 5 more minutes.

Chocolate Pudding recipe


Ingredients :

1/3 cup sugar
100g softened butter
200g chopped dark chocolate
3 eggs
1/4 cup self-raising flour
2/3 cup castor sugar
Chocolate Fudge Sauce
200g chopped dark chocolate
1/3 cup thickened cream (you can just shake normal cream to make it thick if you don't have thickened cream)

How to Prepare :
Put chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, stir for 5 min or until it's smooth then take off heat
Beat eggs and castor sugar until thick
Add the warm chocolate mixture
Sift flour into mixture
Combine mixture, stirring gently
Pour batter evenly into 4 ovenproof bowls (approx 3/4 cup capacity) - Before you add the mixture grease the bowls with butter, and sprinkle 1 tablespoon white sugar into each bowl, turning to coat.
Bake for approximately 20 - 25 minutes or until pudding tops crack, in a preheated oven at 200° Stand puddings in bowls for 5 minutes. Loosen puddings (carefully) and put onto a plate lined with baking paper.
Chocolate Fudge Sauce
Put chocolate and cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat, uncovered, on high for 2 to 3 minutes or until smooth - stir every minute
Poor the warm Chocolate Fudge Sauce over the puddings

Asian-Style Lettuce Wraps recipe


Ingredients :

16 Butter lettuce or similar leaves
455 g lean ground beef
15 ml cooking oil
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
15 ml soy sauce
60 ml Hoisin sauce (also called Chinese barbecue sauce)
10 g minced pickled ginger
15 ml rice wine vinegar
Asian chili pepper sauce (optional)
1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and finely chopped
1 bunch green onions, chopped
10 ml Asian (dark) sesame oil

How to Prepare :
Rinse the whole lettuce leaves and pat them dry, be careful not to tear them. Set them aside. In a medium skillet over high heat, brown the ground beef in 1 tablespoon of oil, stirring often and reduce the heat to medium, if necessary. Drain, and set aside to cool. Cook the onion in the same pan, stirring frequently. Add the garlic, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ginger, vinegar, and chili pepper sauce to the onions, and stir.
Stir in chopped water chestnuts, green onions, and sesame oil, and continue cooking until the onions just begin to wilt, about 2 minutes. Arrange lettuce leaves around the outer edge of a large serving platter, and pile meat mixture in the center. To serve, allow each person to spoon a portion of the meat into a lettuce leaf. Wrap the lettuce around the meat like a burrito, and enjoy!

Garlic Chicken recipe


Ingredients :

45 g butter
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
6 g garlic powder
4 g seasoning salt 2 g onion powder

How to Prepare :
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the chicken and sprinkle with garlic powder, seasoning salt and onion powder. Saute about 10 to 15 minutes on each side, or until chicken is cooked through and juices run clear.

Bake and Baste Chicken(Boston Chicken)

Ingredients and Directions

1/4 cup Canola oil
1 tablespoon Honey
1 tablespoon Lime juice
1/4 teaspoon Paprika
4 Chicken breast halves -- washed and patted dr

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a small bowl, combine canola oil, honey, lime juice and paprika. Place chicken, skin side up, in a 7x11 inch baking dish. Apply mixture to chicken pieces in a single layer. Bake in over for 35-40 minutes, basting every 8-10 minutes or until well browned and juices run clear when you cut into the thickest part of chicken. Remove from oven. Cover with foil for 15 minutes. This softens chicken and keeps it hot until served. Serves 4. CREAMED SPINACH (like at Boston Chicken) 10 3/4 can cream of celery soup 1 tbs. flour 1/4 cup butter or margarine or canola oil 1/2 tsp. garlic salt or to taste Salt to taste Pepper to taste 20 oz. frozen chopped spinach, cooked according to package directions, well drained OR 2 pounds fresh spinach, cleaned, stems removed, chopped, cooked and drained 1 tbs. dry onion, chopped, or 1 small onion, peeled, ends removed, diced In a large saucepan over medium heat, whisk together celery soup, flour, butter or margarine or canola oil, garlic salt, salt and pepper until smooth and piping hot. Using healthy low carb recipes are an important part of your diet success, just as it's important to remember to drink enough water helping your body to remove the byproducts of the fat burning process.
